Royal Dutch Mint

Dutch coins have been made in Utrecht since 1567. As one of the oldest businesses in our country the Royal Dutch Mint is also proud of its long and rich past.

About Royal Duch Mint

The Royal Dutch Mint traces its origins to the Utrecht Mint, where coins were first struck in 1567. With the unification of the provinces and the establishment of the modern Dutch state by the early 19th century, the Utrecht Mint became the official state mint, known as the ‘s Rijks Munt. Traditional craftsmanship is supported by the most advanced technology to the years, what makes the Royal Dutch Mint now a “State of the Art” company.

Expert in coins

With the introduction of the euro, the business activities of the Royal Dutch Mint have been strongly internationalized. The Royal Dutch Mint has good and long-term relationships outside the Netherlands. Over the years, various overseas clients have been added, who outsource both the minting of circulation & commemorative coins and the production of medals to the Netherlands. By continuing to consider ”innovation and quality” as the main pillars for its future policy, the Royal Dutch Mint will strengthen its new and existing alliances both now and in the future.
