Vandaag heeft Koning Willem-Alexander het eerste Willemstad Gouden Tientje geslagen. De eerste slag vond plaats op het Gouvernementsplein, voor de ingang van het Paleis van de Gouverneur. De herdenkingsmunt is ontworpen door Cleo Maxime de Brabander en wordt geslagen in opdracht van het Ministerie van Financiën. Het Willemstad Vijfje is verkrijgbaar op de website.
The first commemorative coin of 2023 is a fact: as of today, the Willemstad 5 Euro Coin is available. The historical districts of Punda, Otrobanda, Scharloo and Pietermaai are UNESCO World Heritage since 1997. Therefore, a commemorative coin is struck, commissioned by the Ministry of Finance.
